Study Results

Here we detail the results of the various papers developed through this study. Keep checking back for more information as it becomes available.

We explore owner-managers' perceived and actual knowledge of regulation, along with some of the factors, such as trade-association membership, which influences this knowledge.

These results have been published in the British Journal of Management.

Performance

We explore how owner-managers of micro-firms measure the 'success' of their firms, along with their perceptions on the value and burden of regulation, and how these factors interact.

These results have been published in Competition & Change.

Compliance

We explore Perceived Own-Firm and Perceived Competitor Compliance in firms. In particular, we investigate the links between Perceived Own-Firm and Perceived Competitor compliance, as well as the links with the perceived value and burden of regulation.

These results have been published in The Journal of General Management (JOGM).

Methods

We conduct an in-depth ex-post review of our original survey, to explore the impact of several factors (such as the type of trade-association support and message frequency/type) on response rates in our micro-firm case. The paper ends with a comprehensive set of suggestions for future researchers.

These results have been published in The Electronic Journal of Business Research Methods (EJBRM).
